Aap Ka Manoranjan has been part of the New England South Asian community for over 24 years now. It all started back in 1993, with the launch of Aap Ka Manoranjan Television show, where host Arsh Mehrotra brought  Bollywood based entertaining program each and every week to its South East Asian viewers. With the support and encouragement of its loyal fans, advertisers and sponsors, Aap Ka Manoranjan has grown to be the leading South Asian entertainment company in New England, bringing quality entertainment all across the region.
In addition to producing  a widely popular weekly television show, Aap Ka Manoranjan ventured into the Bollywwod concert industry, by promoting and sponsoring live events such as: Madhuri Dixit Live in Concert (1995), Rangeele Dilwale Live in Concert (1996), featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, Pankaj Udhas Live in Concert (1997), Singer Abhijeet (1998) Live in Concert, Asha Bhonsle Live in Concert (1998), Mega Millennium Live in Concert (1999), featuring Aamir Khan, Aishwariya Rai, Akshaye Khanna, Twinkle Khanna and Rani Mukherjee and Daler Mehndi with Karisma Kapoor Live in Concert. In addition to live concerts, we have also promoted and sponsored plays, such as: Khel (2000), starring Paresh Rawal & Nasiruddin Shah, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We hosted ARRAHMAN live in concert in 2010, followed by Shreya Goshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kumar Sanu live in concerts,The list is too long. We have great reputation with various arenas and auditoriums in the area and enjoy years of excellent rapport with national promoters.
In 1995 we extended our reach into  the community by screening Bollywood movies in second or third week of India release, on the big screen in various locations in and around New England.  We started with a few shows at odd hours in rented theater premises at Lowell, MA and extending our reach to Burlington, MA Westford, MA  and Lincoln RI. Within a year we started releasing movies  at the same day as in India. And since then we have been  keeping up with world premiere release for all our movies. In 1997, Aap Ka Manoranjan leased the Regent Theater in Arlington, MA, just 10 min outside of Boston. By dubbing this theater the "Bombay Cinema", Aap Ka Manoranjan created a virtual brand name that phenomenally changed the South Asian scene in Boston. For the first time, there was a permanent place for Bollywood films. Each and every weekend, Aap Ka Manoranjan screened World Premiere releases at the Bombay Cinema in Arlington. The Regent Theater was a great home for the Bombay Cinema from 1996 - 2001, but as times changed and the demand for Indian movies increased, Aap Ka Manoranjan needed some place where we could screen multiple movies at the same times. The answer lay in the Showcase Cinemas,  in Allston, MA. Hence  the Allston Bombay Cinema was born, it had two screens and offered  Hindi movies 7 days a week. Almost 2 years later the property housing the theater was sold to Staples and we moved to a more central location, Somerville Theater in Davis Square. Bombay Cinema continued screening World Premiere releases week-after-week  7 days a week. Presently we release Bollywood movies each week in Apple cinemas in Fresh Pond Cambridge, MA.
We started screening Bollywood movies with English subtitles in 2003 so as to  include younger and cross over audiences, now  all our films have subtitles in English and our non Asian attendance has gone up from 3% to over 15% in the last 5 years, and it is growing with each film release. We presently release over 80+ titles each year.
As Aap Ka Manoranjan grows, we are continuously trying to reinvent ourselves as the leader in South Asian Entertainment in New England. We depend on the support that all of you have so graciously given us in the past. We hope that you will visit us at the our theaters in Cambridge MA and Waterbury CT and make it your regular home for Indian movies in New England!
